For families facing pediatric brain cancer, time can suddenly become the most precious thing in the world. Pediatric brain tumors are among the most devastating diseases affecting children. One of the most aggressive is Diffuse Intrinsic Pontine Glioma (DIPG). These tumors develop in critical areas of the brain and are extraordinarily difficult to treat. Despite advances in medicine, children diagnosed with DIPG still face devastatingly limited treatment options and time.
Behind every diagnosis is a child.
A child with favorite songs and favorite foods. A child with best friends, inside jokes, dreams, traditions, and plans for the future. And surrounding that child is a family suddenly navigating hospitals, treatments, fear, uncertainty, and the unimaginable, while trying desperately to preserve childhood in the middle of it all.
Moments with Mila Foundation was created for those children and their families.
We believe that while families fight for more time, the moments within that time matter deeply. Our mission is to bring comfort, joy, connection, advocacy, and meaningful experiences to children facing pediatric brain cancer and to support the families walking beside them.
This foundation began with one remarkable 13-year-old girl who showed us just how much life can exist inside a moment.
Her name is Mila Melida Muñiz.
And this is her legacy.
Moments with Mila Foundation is a registered 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization that exists to create meaningful moments for children with life threatening illnesses and their families by providing financial assistance, providing compassionate emotional support, advocacy, and helping families make moments that matter.
It's a legacy built around the idea that every child deserves meaningful moments, and every family deserves the chance to make them.
